Terms of service

These terms are a contract between you and AnonymousCrush (“we,” “us”) covering anonymouscrush.com and everything it does. By creating an account or using the service you accept them, together with the Privacy notice. If you don't accept them, don't use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. One account per person, created with accurate information about yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure; tell us immediately at support@anonymouscrush.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

AnonymousCrush lets you privately record interest in a specific person by their email address. Nothing is communicated to them. Only if that person independently records interest in you are both of you notified, after which each of you decides, step by step, what to reveal and whether to talk.

We do not promise, and cannot promise, that anyone will ever match with you. A match requires another human being's independent, freely given choice. Nothing you can do on this service — and nothing you could ever pay for — increases the likelihood of that choice. Entries also lapse on the schedule you choose unless you renew them, which is always free.

You agree that you will not:

• enter anyone under 18, or use the service in connection with any minor;
• enter email addresses to probe, test, or infer whether a person uses this service (the design prevents this — attempting it is still a violation);
• use the service to harass, stalk, threaten, or monitor anyone, or continue contact with someone who has withdrawn, declined, or blocked you;
• impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity to a match, or enter addresses you have no genuine personal connection to (bulk entry, scraped lists, or strangers' addresses);
• use messaging for commercial solicitation, spam, or scams of any kind;
• attempt to break, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the service's security or its privacy mechanisms; or
• use the service for anything unlawful.

The service enforces safety limits — a hard ceiling on simultaneous entries, rate limits, blocks, and opt-out suppressions — that no account can bypass, for money or otherwise; plan entitlements sit strictly below that ceiling and are the only thing payment can ever change.

You own what you write — private notes, sealed notes, profile fields, and messages. You give us only the limited license needed to operate the service: to store it, process it as described in the Privacy notice, and deliver it to the person you addressed it to under the consent rules. Sealed notes are destroyed unread whenever delivery becomes impossible — immediately on explicit closures, within about an hour otherwise; destroyed content is unrecoverable through the product, and residual copies in our database provider's short-term backups age out automatically within days and are never used to restore destroyed content. You are responsible for what you write; content in a reported conversation may be reviewed by our safety staff.

Block and report controls are available from every match and conversation, before and after accepting. We review reports and may warn, restrict, suspend, or ban accounts; when we close a match for safety reasons it closes neutrally, revealing nothing to either side about why.

About the people you meet: we verify email ownership, not identity, character, or history. We do not run background checks. If you choose to reveal information or meet someone, use the same judgment you would with any person you know only slightly — reveal gradually (the product is built for exactly that), meet publicly first, and trust your instincts. The service is currently free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, they will sell capacity and convenience only — more simultaneous entries, and quality-of-life features like automatic renewal of your own entries. Payment buys capacity, not outcomes — no plan will ever include reveals, hints, visibility into who entered you, better matching odds, or exemption from any safety rule. Prices, billing terms, and cancellation rights will be shown clearly before you ever pay, and canceling will always stop future charges while leaving your account on the free plan.

You can withdraw entries, unmatch, pause, or delete your account at any time under Settings — deletion withdraws your entries and closes live matches neutrally. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for others, or abuse the service, and we may discontinue the service itself with reasonable notice, in which case these terms end apart from the sections that by their nature survive (5, 9, 10, 11).

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any entry will result in a match, a conversation, a relationship, or any outcome at all. Your interactions with other users are between you and them; we are not a party to them and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or emotional distress arising from your use of the service; and our total liability for all claims together will not exceed the greater of fifty US dollars ($50) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law allows.

If your violation of these terms causes us to face a third party's claim, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the service's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes belong to the courts of that state unless applicable law gives you the right to sue where you live. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands. If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date above and notify members through the service; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change. These terms plus the Privacy notice are the entire agreement between us.
